It is common for people to experience slow operating computer systems, program crashes, and other annoying problems associated with lack of memory on hard drives. In most cases, these problems share the same cause – low memory.  However, instead of dealing with the issue, you can upgrade using types of memory, giving your computer a much-needed boost. As a result, you will enjoy faster start-up and overall better performance. One example would be the RISC computer by IBM. One computer in this series is the RISCstation 2250, a popular choice. You will have a choice of 16, 32, or 64 megabytes of installed memory. However, you can upgrade RISC memory to one gigabyte. One note is that for this system, memory modules have to be installed in groups of four, using the recommended type of memory. Designed with 16 sockets, or four banks of four, the upgrade is slightly different from other models.

You can also improve performance for other types of computers, whether a Dell, Apple, Toshiba, or Gateway. Each of these companies has a wide selection of computers that can be upgraded with more memory, thus better performance.  Respectively, there is Dimension memory, LaserWriter memory, T4400C memory, and 930 memory. Along with IBM, these competitors provide not only numerous computer models from which to choose, but also types of memory upgrades. In many instances, you could boost your computer’s memory from a mere 32 megabytes to eight gigabytes or more. Just imagine how much more work you could accomplish simply by upgrading your system.
